Great concept for a hotel with easy self-access and in the perfect location. Rooms are well decorated, modern, with great amenities. They are small, so great for a single traveler, but would be tight for a couple. Definitely would stay again.

Location is fantastic. The check in process was very easy. Room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Shower amenities were lovely! Definitely a gay themed hotel but anyone would feel comfortable staying here, even a family with kids. The room did only come with 2 bath towels. We would have liked a hand towel, washcloth, and especially a bathmat to put in front of shower for stepping out. The room is quite small, but we did not mind at all. It had everything we needed and would stay there again.

**update the manager was really kind and responsive and offered to replace the sheets and look into noise solutions** The Castro is a wonderful neighborhood in SF, but my room had a lot of noise being street facing. Just know their bar is open until 2am, so try to get a room to the back of the building. The sheets were very uncomfortable but the manager offered to replace them. This is a beautiful historical neighborhood but I’d only recommend it if you’re here to party and can sleep through loud noise.

I would never recommend someone to stay at the hotel Castro after my experience for a simple reason - you can stay almost anywhere else and have a better experience for a similar or lower price. Yes, you can check in without talking to anyone, but why would you want to? If you have a question, you have no one to speak to except for their AI chat bot or some overseas person who just copies and pastes responses from a script. Want to store your bags because you’re early? They have that… except it’s at a laundromat down the street? Just get off the plane and want to wash your hands when you arrive? Sorry, they don’t even provide hand soap. Have a problem with the room, like the promised Netflix or Hulu streaming not working? You get to talk to the same clueless customer service reps over chat who just… copy and paste stuff from a script and don’t actually help you with anything. The room is fine. It’s VERY small with a giant bed which was mostly nice, but otherwise the room offers very little. Want a bathrobe - something any other hotel on earth provides? SOL. Oh and someone else on here talks about the noise - it’s very very noisy if you stay in a room facing the street and I could hear lots of noise from the rooms around me. My favorite part was when the 18 wheeler arrived at 2 am and was unloading pallets into the grocery across the street for almost 2 hours. They should have that on the schedule so people can be aware. Was sure fun to lose almost an entire nights sleep to that great local attraction which has to happen multiple times a year. So again, why would you stay here unless you’re completely anti-social. You can stay at plenty of other places and have more space, more amenities, and actual humans available for if you need anything. Great area though!

Awesome place to stay for a little getaway. Perfect location within walking distance to everything you would want or need. The room was fitting and cozy with a balcony overlooking all the activity on the street below. The highlight was the …

As other reviewers have said, prepare for very small rooms! However, room is very well thought out in terms of storage and user-friendliness. Location great, remote check in very easy. …
